I am a textile artist, researcher and creative practitioner based in West Yorkshire.

My practice explores how materials can connect us to people, places and stories. I am interested in the things we make, mend, wear, wash, inherit and discard, and what these everyday practices can tell us about the worlds we live in.

Textiles give me a way of working with these questions that is both physical and social. I use making, storytelling, material experimentation and participation to create spaces where people can share knowledge, explore ideas and imagine alternatives.

My practice has developed across community projects, schools, higher education, cultural organisations and independent creative practice. I have worked extensively with participatory and collaborative approaches, developing workshops and programmes that are accessible, welcoming and rooted in the interests of the people and places involved.

Alongside my creative practice, I have more than twelve years' experience in higher education, including teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, programme leadership and research ethics. My PhD research explored sustainability and clothing practices, and my ongoing research continues to investigate the relationships between textiles, care, consumption and environmental change.

I am particularly interested in place-based practice: working with the materials, histories, skills and stories that already exist within a community rather than arriving with a predetermined answer.
